I’m actually pleased that I went 10-6 last week, in my first picks of the season. While I wasn’t sure what to expect from the teams, I was surprised by some of my picks and disappointed by others. Going into this week can be dangerous because it is typical to try and pick based on who won last week as opposed to looking at the bigger picture.
That being said, here are my picks for the NFL’s Week 2 of Games:
Sunday, September 16
Houston Texans (1-0) vs. Carolina Panthers (1-0)
While I chose the Texans to win last week, they surprised me by doing just that. Unfortunately, I think their one game winning streak is about to end.
Winner: Carolina Panthers
Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) vs. Cleveland Browns (0-1)
No wonder Brady Quinn finagled for so long instead of just signing with the Browns. They suck.
Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
Atlanta Falcons (0-1) vs. Jacksonville Jags (0-1)
Vick really messed this season up for the Falcons. The Jags have the potential to be a winning team.
Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars
Green Bay Packers (1-0) vs. NY Giants (0-1)
Though I’m pretty much sick of Brett Favre, he still has a little something left…I guess.
Winner: Green Bay Packers
Buffalo Bills (0-1) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)
The Bills almost bested the Broncos last week and the Steelers may have won, but c’mon. It was against Cleveland!
Winner: Buffalo Bills
San Francisco 49ers (1-0) vs. St. Louis Rams (0-1)
This one was hard. San Francisco won, but they beat Arizona. St. Louis lost, but to a pretty good team (Carolina).
Winner: St. Louis Rams
New Orleans Saints (0-1) vs. Tampa Bay Bucs (0-1)
Bush and Brees will get it together this week.
Winner: New Orleans Saints
Indianapolis Colts (1-0) vs. Tennessee Titans (1-0)
The Titans may have beaten the Jags, but Manning is on fire!
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
Seattle Seahawks (1-0) vs. Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
C’mon. Is there even a competition here? I’m looking forward to a slaughtering
Winner: Seattle Seahawks
Minnesota Vikings (1-0) vs. Detroit Lions (1-0)
This is a tough call, because my mind is telling me Minnesota while my heart says Detroit.
Winner: Detroit Lions
Dallas Cowboys (1-0) vs. Miami (0-1)
What can really be said about this matchup?
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
NY Jets (0-1) vs. Baltimore Ravens (0-1)
In this matchup, my personal feelings have got the best of me.
Winner: NY Jets
Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) vs. Chicago (0-1)
Ouch! Both teams had a bad time of it last week. This week let’s home Chicago can pull it together and show us how they got to the Superbowl last year.
Winner: Chicago
Oakland Raiders (0-1) vs. Denver Broncos (1-0)
Oakland lost…to Detroit. I like Detroit, but c’mon!
Winner: Denver Broncos
San Diego Chargers (1-0) vs. New England Patriots (1-0)
Why must I make such difficult decisions? This is the must watch game of Week 2.
Winner: New England Patriots
Monday, Sep 17
Washington Redskins (1-0) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (0-1)
This should be a fairly decent matchup. Nevertheless, Washington has looked like a better team this year then Philly.
Winner: Washington Redskins

Denver, New England & Washington all won upping my record to 9-7 for the second week. Week one was better, but week 2 wasn’t as bad as it appeared it was going to be, after losing those first few games.
