Burton, Michigan – June 16, 2008 – Literary Illusions is offering funny, humorous and inspirational t-shirts through Zazzle. At the present time, all of the proceeds will be going to help Literary Illusions writer and Head Editor, Dominick Evans. For those who don’t know, Dominick has a progressive disease known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Despite that fact, he’s become successful online as a writer and advocate for the disability and GLBT communities.
Still, with Dominick being wheelchair bound, he is unable to afford some of the things he needs to be more independent. These days, a wheelchair accessible vehicle is priced (on average) in the $40,000 range. Dominick is also in need of a new ramp with the impending winter just five months away.
His wooden ramp wasn’t made with the best wood and though Dominick asked the man who built it to seal the wood (something he remembered his grandfather doing when he built Dominick’s first ramp – which kept the ramp healthy for many years) and the man promising to come back and seal the wood, the wood was never sealed and now it is rotting.
For both the ramp and the wheelchair van Dominick is looking to pay around $50,000. You can help Dominick reach his goal in raising the money he needs by purchasing one of our shirts. Make sure to check back often as new designs go up on a consistent basis.
