SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT MOVES UP RELEASE DATE FOR TWILIGHT TO NOVEMBER 21, 2008

Los Angeles, CA August 15, 2008 – TWILIGHT, the first film in Summit Entertainment’s thriller romance franchise, has moved up its North American release date to Friday, November 21, 2008. The film, which was previously planned to be released on December, 12, 2008, is taking advantage of an opening in the upcoming fall release calendar. The new release date for TWILIGHT allows the studio to both bring the film to the written-series’ enormous fan base sooner, and to present the film in more theaters prior to the holiday movie-going season where traditionally screen time for any popular film is limited.

“When Warner Bros. decided to move HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months,” said Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment. “We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible POTTER franchise for 2008, rather we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer’s incredible book series the film as soon possible from a programming perspective.”

Starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the thriller-romance based on Stephenie Meyer’s publishing phenomenon, the film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke from a script by Melissa Rosenberg (STEP UP). Karen Rosenfelt (DEVIL WEARS PRADA), Greg Mooradian and Wyck Godfrey will produce along with Mark Morgan via his Maverick Films banner.

TWILIGHT tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan (Stewart) who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen (Pattinson), a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together…even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. Their unorthodox romance puts her in physical danger when Edward’s nemesis comes to town and sets his sights on Bella.

CENTURY CITY, CA – Humans are even uglier in High-Def when Planet Of The Apes: 40 Year Evolution Blu-ray Collection takes over the Earth November 4th in North America and throughout the Fall Internationally from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. This spectacular set includes all five hair - raising Planet Of The Apes films on Blu-ray for the first time, including Beneath The Planet Of The Apes, Escape From The Planet Of The Apes, Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes, Battle For The Planet Of The Apes, and the 1968 original Planet Of The Apes, which stunned audiences with its now-iconic conclusion and shockingly dystopian view of humanity’s fate. From an age of film when science fiction served as allegory in addition to providing thrilling spectacle and edge-of-your-seat adventure, the Planet Of The Apes franchise set the gold standard for Sci-Fi films. Now the films that changed the face of science fiction forever will be available in the ultimate home viewing format. This year’s Comic Con International 2008 provided fans a first look at some of the exciting extras to be featured on the Blu-ray discs.

Planet Of The Apes: 40 Year Evolution Blu-ray Collection is packed with exclusive new High-Def content. As a special treat for Apes fans, the collection includes an unrated version of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. Previously unreleased in the United States, this version includes eight minutes of unrated footage. Other new special content includes an “Evolution of the Apes” documentary chronicling the evolution of the Apes universe from novel to the big screen, an “Impact of the Apes” featurette exploring the cultural impact of the franchise and a never-before-seen public service announcement from ANSA about the seminal flight of the “Project Liberty” crew. Each Planet Of The Apes sequel included in the beautifully packaged collection will contain brand new High-Def making-of featurettes and will be available for the suggested retail price of $159.98 U.S.

In addition, the previously released Limited Edition Planet Of The Apes Ultimate Collection will be available in the uniquely packaged ape head just in time for the holidays at a more attractive price.

Synopses:
The compelling and classic 1968 Planet Of The Apes stars Oscar-winner® Charlton Heston (Ben-Hur, 1960) as an astronaut who crash lands on a planet ruled by apes who use a primitive race of humans for experimentation and sport. Beneath The Planet Of The Apes tells the story of a daring rescue mission that leads to a subterranean city where mutant humans worship a weapon capable of destroying the entire planet. In Escape From The Planet Of The Apes, two futuristic simians who have traveled to present-day Earth enjoy celebrity status—until a government plot forces them to run for their lives! In Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes, apes have been domesticated and trained as pets and personal servants—until their continual mistreatment leads to a spectacular revolt. In the final Apes chapter, Battle For The Planet Of The Apes, an idyllic society of man and ape is threatened by both a militant gorilla and a tribe of still-intelligent mutant humans.

Arrive in Color as DVD Gift Set and all-new Blu-ray™ High-Def Four Pack October 7

The 7th VOYAGE OF SINBAD: 50th ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Also Debuts October 7 on DVD and Blu-ray™ High-Def Loaded with New Bonus Features

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release some of the most popular film classics from stop-motion animation genius Ray Harryhausen in a Ray Harryhausen Collectible DVD Gift Set and a The 7th Voyage of Sinbad: 50th Anniversary Edition DVD on October 7, just in time for holiday gift-giving. The six-disc DVD boxed gift set features two-disc special editions of It Came From Beneath the Sea, Earth vs. The Flying Saucers, and 20 Million Miles to Earth: 50th Anniversary Edition.

Each film is available in a brilliant colorized version, in addition to the pristine, digitally-restored black & white original version, and viewers are able to toggle between the two as they please. Also included in the gift set is a collectible Ymir figurine based on Ray Harryhausen’s original 1957 hand-crafted design and signed by Ray Harryhausen himself. The Ray Harryhausen Collectible DVD Gift Set will sell for $80.95 SRP.

The collection is also being released day and date, in a Blu-ray™ High-Definition Disc four-pack including It Came From Beneath the Sea, Earth vs. The Flying Saucers, 20 Million Miles to Earth: 50th Anniversary Edition, and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad: 50th Anniversary Edition in bold bright color for $107.95 SRP.

With the cutting-edge high-definition colorization technology developed and patented by industry leader Legend Films, Harryhausen has been able to visually recreate his black and white films. Harryhausen said, “I am thrilled these films are finally being seen in color. I had wanted to do them in color in the 1950s, but the budgets were not large enough to accommodate that luxury. Now, thanks to the marvelous advances made in the colorization process by San Diego’s Legend Films and others, audiences will be able to see the movies as I originally intended.”

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad: 50th Anniversary Edition, also available on October 7, arrives on a single-disc DVD and Blu-ray™ High-Def disc, both loaded with special features including audio commentary by Ray Harryhausen, visual effects experts Phil Tippett and Randall William Cook, author Steven Smith and producer Arnold Kunert; a documentary; six featurettes, and more. The 7th Voyage of Sinbad: 50th Anniversary Edition will sell for $19.94 SRP, while the Blu-ray™ High-Def release will sell for $28.95 SRP.

Though special effects techniques today have been dramatically transformed by CGI, Ray Harryhausen’s highly imaginative and incredibly detailed work continues to hold audiences spellbound. A disciple of stop-motion pioneer Willis O’Brien (King Kong), Harryhausen adapted O’Brien’s techniques. Harryhausen developed and created his own genre of film from the 1950s to the 1980s utilizing this stop-motion process (eventually identified as “Dynamation”). His memorable films include The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953), It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955), The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), Jason and the Argonauts (1963), One Million Years, B.C. (1966), The Valley of Gwangi (1969), The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974), and Clash of the Titans (1981). Harryhausen’s amazing body of work continues to inspire many of today’s special effects wizards.

Brimming with laugh-out-loud commentaries from caustically hilarious space travelers Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson and their robot pals Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, MST3K was a genuine phenomenon. Its popularity spawned an MST3K fan following that numbers over hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide.

Celebrating 20 years after MST3K’s premiere on television, the entire creative team reunites for the first time when Shout! Factory proudly presents its MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000: 20th Anniversary Edition DVD box set on October 28, 2008. A sumptuous ode to this cult-classic series, the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD box set features four of the show’s most requested unreleased film episodes – First Spaceship on Venus, Laserblast, Werewolf and Future War, and boasts exclusive DVD bonus content that explore the genesis, life and afterlife of MST3K. Robot – all assembled in a collectible embossed tin and only available with the purchase of this DVD box set.

When a dig assistant becomes infected and transforms into a werewolf, the ambitious team leader begins a horrific experiment, infecting the oblivious townspeople with the werewolf virus.

FUTURE WAR
In 1997’s action-packed Future War, a race of evil cyborgs kidnap humans from Earth’s future to use as slaves, and take dinosaurs from the past to use as trackers. A determined slave, the “Runaway”, escapes and makes his way to present-day Los Angeles. There he must fend off the cyborgs and their trackers, the police, and the government, befriended by a prostitute-turned-nun who runs a halfway house.

The Mystery Science Theater 3000 series was created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc. After a year on KTMA TV in Minneapolis, its national broadcast life began in 1989 on the Comedy Channel (later to become Comedy Central), where it ran for seven seasons. The show’s final three seasons aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. The premise of the series features a hapless man who is trapped by mad scientists on a satellite in space and forced to watch old B-movies of questionable worth. To keep sane, he’s built two robot sidekicks, and together they do a running commentary on the films, affectionately mocking their flaws with inspired wisecracks and acting as a demented movie theater peanut gallery. Series creator Hodgson originally played the stranded man, Joel Robinson. When he left in 1993, series head writer Mike Nelson replaced him as the new B-movie victim Mike Nelson, and continued in the role for the rest of the show’s run. The format proved to be popular. During its eleven years and 198 episodes (including one feature film), MST3K attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. The series won a Peabody Award in 1993, and was nominated for writing Emmys® in 1994 and 1995.

Synopsis
Starring Jenna Jameson, Robert Englund and Roxy Saint (of the Goth Rock Band: Roxy Saint and the Blackouts), Zombie Strippers is a comedic horror film set in the not too distant future, when a secret government re-animation “chemo-virus” gets released and lands in an underground strip club. The virus first infects Kat (Jameson), turning her into a flesh-craving Super Zombie Stripper, with killer moves on the dance floor. She instantly becomes the club’s most popular attraction and the other girls begin to get jealous of all the attention Kat is getting. As the virus begins to spread, turning the strippers into Zombies, the girls struggle with whether or not to conform to the new “fad” even if it means there’s no turning back.

Written and directed by Jay Lee, produced by Andrew Golov (The Punisher), Angela Lee (The Slaughter) and Larry Schapiro (Playing Mona Lisa), Zombie Strippers is inspired by the French existential Theatre of the Absurd play Rhinoceros by Eugene Ionesco.
