Casio Looks to Make Bold Statement with Newest Addition to Pathfinder Line

LAS VEGAS, NV, MAY 30, 2008 – Eliminating any excuse for misdirection or unforeseen change in weather, Casio’s newest addition to the Pathfinder line will serve as your very own travel guide. The PAW1500-1V, also known as the Ultimate Pathfinder, is the essential tool for any outdoorsman. This new watch will be on display at Casio’s Booth #25049 at the JCK Show that opened in the Sands Convention Center today.

The PAW1500-1V is the first 200M water resistant timepiece in the Pathfinder line
and features a tide graph and moon graph/phase indicator to help navigate the coastline. These features, combined with the traditional Pathfinder triple sensor technology which includes a digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer, make this the Ultimate Pathfinder. Built with low temperature resistance to accommodate any cold or wet weather conditions, this lightweight watch is durable and comfortable whether you are on the high seas or on top of Mt. Everest.

The PAW1500-1V boasts qualities that make Pathfinder an ideal line of watches for the ultimate outdoorsman. The Ultimate Pathfinder features Casio’s innovative non-stop, self-adjusting technology, tough solar power and Waveceptor Multi-Band Atomic Timekeeping Technology, meaning no more worries of changing the time for daylight saving time or leap years. With the Multi-Band Atomic Timekeeping feature, this timepiece automatically synchronizes with Coordinated Universal Time broadcast continuously by stations linked to atomic clocks located in the US, Germany, the UK and two in Japan. These timepieces receive this signal several times during each 24-hour period, resulting in outstanding accuracy. Tough solar power adds to the Pathfinder’s efficiency as this feature is a unique power saving function and allows the timepiece to energize itself through even the lowest level of illumination; natural, solar or artificial.

“We are very excited to show off our newest addition of the Pathfinder series at JCK,” said Dave Johnson, Senior General Manager of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “With revamped features and slimmer styling, you will find that we did not name it the ‘Ultimate Pathfinder’ without good reason.”

The Ultimate Pathfinder includes a large LCD display for easy reading of time, graphs and measurements. One-touch sensor buttons leads to direct operation of sensors and means no scrolling through menus to get the measurements you need quickly. Button guards prevent against accidental operation of sensors and enhance the practicality of the Ultimate Pathfinder.

The PAW1500-1V is available in black resin at select Macy’s stores for the MSRP of $350. The same Pathfinder model is also available with a titanium band, model PAW1500T-7V at select Macy’s stores for the MSRP of $400. Both models are currently available at retail.
