Psychology major and sprinter for Mississippi, Rodney Lydale Lockhart, was found dead in his apartment on Saturday where he had been shot to death near the campus of Ole Miss. Lockhart was just 20 years old and was a junior at the college.

Lockhart was a part of the 1,600 meter relay team in the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing. The team won a gold medal for their performance in the race.

The Oxford police arrived at Lockhart’s apartment in the morning hours on Saturday after they received a 911 call. Apparently in the call, a man said that he found the college student on the floor. Lockhart was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner, Lonnie Weaver.

Everett Looks Like all the other Wheelers

September 29, 2007

Kevin EverettThe Bills are having a terrible season and who could blame them. The tragedy with Kevin Everett and the possibility that he may never walk again would shake any team. Our thoughts are certainly with him during his physical therapy and hopefully some sort of recovery.

Recently a news station was reporting that Everett was able to move his arms and legs. This news is excellent but it would have been a little bit better had they showed the right guy in the right wheelchair. Instead they showed a guy being wheeled into court who had a fit. Wow, that was the wrong move. I guess all people in wheelchairs look the same to them. (more…)

Week Four - NFL Game Predictions

September 28, 2007

3balls Golf

NFL FootballI was really happy my predictions did so well last week. I’m hoping for a repeat performance this week. While I’ve done fairly well with my picks this entire year, I want to make sure I’m not getting overly confident. That’s when I tend to mess up and pick teams on personal feelings and emotions rather on whether I believe they are going to win or not.

First, let’s check out the first three weeks of NFL picks and how I did.

Week One – 10–6
Week Two – 9–7
Week Three - 12-4

Now, let’s talk about this week. There are some interesting match ups this week. Last week was fairly predictable, with a few surprises. It’s time to see if those teams that surprised us are going to continue to do so.

It is looking to be one crazy NFL season…One surprise of the season is that the New Orleans Saints are now 0-3. How did that happen with Reggie Bush and Drew Brees on the team? Nobody’s sure, but Reggie is finally (hopefully) starting to find his groove now that he’s scored for the first time this season.

The Saints aren’t the only surprising team of the season. Detroit has done remarkably well compared to their ranking last year. Sure, they had a whopper against Philly last week, but there is hope in Detroit that the Lions won’t falter and actually have a decent season this year.
